There are still plenty of concerns about the number of Californians without health insurance, but those who can go to a doctor like the care they are getting. According to a new report from the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, 96 percent of the insured population reports either “good” or “excellent” satisfaction with their health care. If only people were that happy with their politicians.

The California Health Care Foundation provides a useful summary of children’s health insurance programs. One interesting chart compares the rates of uninsured children among the 10 most populous states. California is third. We’re doing much better than last-place Texas but we have twice the uninsured rate as Michigan.
